Cultural & Holistic Healing
About the Program
The Cultural and Holistic Healing Program at the Nawican Friendship Centre provides culturally grounded support that honors Indigenous approaches to wellness while integrating contemporary healing practices. We recognize that true healing addresses the whole person—mind, body, spirit, and emotions—and is deeply connected to culture, community, and connection to the land. Our program creates safe, respectful spaces where Indigenous and non-Indigenous community members can access traditional healing practices, cultural teachings, counseling support, and wellness activities. If you’re seeking to reconnect with traditional healing ways, needing support navigating mental health or addiction challenges, working through trauma, or simply wanting to strengthen your overall wellbeing, our holistic approach meets you where you are on your healing journey. We believe that healing happens in community, through cultural connection, and with compassionate, trauma-informed support that respects each person’s unique path.
